Marquese Chriss was asked this week if he had hit the wall, basketball speak for the common mid-season fatigue that causes mental and physical strain. The question made sense. Over his last four games the Suns rookie forward had been a non-factor, battling so much foul trouble that coach Earl Watson suggested that if Chriss had hit any kind of wall, perhaps it was a “fouling wall.”
Result: Chriss responded with a season-high 20 points in Monday night’s home loss to Memphis, the lone bright spot as the Suns lost their fourth in a row.
“Somebody said I hit the rookie wall, so I tried to do a little something different,” Chriss said.
