DALLAS – As Alec Peters walked into the Suns locker room Tuesday, an assistant coach handed him the box score from Phoenix’s 124-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks and told him to laminate it.
Why not?
Peters had the game of his short career in the Suns’ season finale, hitting 12 of 20 shots – including 8 of 13 3-pointers – and finishing with 36 points.
Some perspective:
Peters’ previous career high was eight points.
The 36 points were 10 fewer than he had scored all year.
The eight 3-pointers, which set a Suns rookie record and were the most by any Phoenix player this season, were two less than he had all season.
