Suns owner Robert Sarver seems content in background as James Jones now running the show

James Jones has the sheets.

That’s an expression from Colin Powell’s leadership book “It Worked for Me.”

“After 30 days, you own the sheets,” the four-star general wrote, meaning that after a certain point, any organizational failings or successes would reflect on the person in charge, rather than the predecessor.

So, when Suns General Manager James Jones says it was his decision to fire Igor Kokoskov after just one season, we should believe it.

“The decision with Igor was mine and mine alone,” he said Wednesday.

No one could blame Suns fans for thinking that Managing General Partner Robert Sarver is behind the scenes directing Jones.
