The Phoenix Suns have assigned rookie guard Elie Okobo to the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League, the team announced on Tuesday.
This is Okobo’s first assignment to Prescott Valley. Through 11 games in Phoenix the 2018 No. 31 overall pick is averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game.
Tomorrow will tell whether Okobo will be reassigned to the NBA club in time for the Suns’ Wednesday home tilt against the San Antonio Spurs. Otherwise, fellow rookie De’Anthony Melton or veteran Jamal Crawford would be in line for a larger role.
