The Suns entered Thursday night's rematch against the Mavericks hoping to hearken back to their first meeting: a 21-point win for the Suns opening night, their largest of the season.
In the second quarter, the Suns began to string together some dunks, building a lead they would not relinquish. First, Josh Jackson got the assist on an alley-oop layup to Deandre Ayton with 7:45 left in the half. Twenty-three seconds later, Jackson added a dunk of his own.
He slammed it in on a fast break, Talking Stick Resort Arena blasted laser sound effects, and the crowd erupted.
