Suns' Devin Booker, Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns brothers on and off the court

MINNEAPOLIS – Devin Booker and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns were in a history class together their one season at the University of Kentucky.

They had become close friends, so close that they called each other brothers. And like brothers, they competed at everything. Basketball, of course. Academics, too.

Towns was a serious student who studied hard for every test. Booker would hit the books, too, but getting good grades almost came naturally to him. So when Booker got a better grade on the history test, he let Towns have it.

“He’d go, ‘Karl, you got a 90 and I got a 96,’ ” recalled Suns point guard Tyler Ulis, who was a teammate of Booker and Towns on that 2014-15 Kentucky team.
