SACRAMENTO – Derrick Jones Jr. understands the situation. The Suns rookie forward realizes that once the NBA released the four participants for the Feb. 18 Verizon Slam Dunk competition during All-Star weekend, a lot of folks probably had to Google his name.
“I’m pretty sure (that was the case), but they’re going to know about me real soon,” Jones said after a brief practice at the Golden 1 Center, where the Suns prepared for Friday night's contest against the Sacramento Kings.
The basics on Jones: He’s 19. (“I’ll turn 20 in 12 days.”) He’s an incredible athlete.
