The Suns want to earn the devotion of a country where a growing hoop affection has an estimated 28 million people playing basketball. Los Suns, as they are dually marketed in Phoenix and beyond, aim to become Mexico’s NBA team and are staging two regular-season “home games” in Mexico City to start winning over the neighbors.
“We really want to be the NBA team for Mexico,” Suns President Jason Rowley said.
