The Phoenix Suns are in the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1992-93 season. It’s been a long time coming for everyone associated with the franchise.
But how about its players? Other than starting forward Jae Crowder, no Suns player had advanced to the championship round in their career. That includes starting point guard Chris Paul, who overcame a laundry list of postseason injuries throughout his career to make it to the biggest stage.
“Man, I was just happy and proud of our team,” Paul said. “(Suns coach) [Monty Williams] not winning (NBA) Coach of the Year, but we know who he is.
