The Phoenix Suns are waiving forwards Nassir Little and EJ Liddell, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The moves give the Valley an open roster spot and more flexibility for trades and signings during the season. Phoenix is set to stretch the three years, and $22 million left on Little’s contract.
The move allows rookies Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro more opportunities. Members of the Suns are high on both, Charania reports.
Liddell was acquired last month from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for David Roddy. He was expected to be waived and releasing him before the end of August saves the Suns $5 million in tax, Suns Insider John Gambadoro posted on X when the Suns acquired Liddell.
