While the Phoenix faithful will be unable to enjoy the upgrades to the Suns’ home formally known as Talking Stick Resort arena, renovations are coming along at a rapid pace ahead of next week’s home opener.
In total, 80% of the work is complete. Another 5% will be finished throughout the season, that includes upgrades to the suite levels and food sections. The last 15% will be taken care of in the offseason, though that work will not impede upon events held in the building.
Among the upgrades:
Arizona’s longest sports bar, 60 feet long
Two LED walls stretching over 7,000 sq feet
A new video board over the court measuring 26 feet tall by 36 feet wide
Two new LED ribbon boards circling the interior of the arena
New court
Theatre lighting
15,100 new seats with cushioning and cupholders
Access to Club River Gila for those seated in the first six rows of the lower bowl
New, wider concourses
New restrooms
And so much more.
