The next NBA season is on course to start next month.
The NBA and National Basketball Players Association announced Monday they've reached an agreement "in principle" to start the 2020-21 season Dec. 22 and have a 72-game regular season as well as have "adjustments to certain provisions of the current collective bargaining agreement impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic."
The agreement is subject to a vote by the league’s Board of Governors.
Back in August, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said starting the season December 1 felt "a little bit early" to him, but the season will start next month after all.
