P.J. Tucker went through the Suns' practice like every other teammate did Monday until it came time for five-on-five, full-court scrimmaging.
Tucker is not there yet but he is close enough that returning from back surgery rehabilitation for the Suns’ Oct. 26 regular-season opener is now in play.
“They were pulling me out of practice and I was like, ‘Haha! All right,’ for the first time,” Tucker said of being sent to the sideline Monday.
After Sept. 15 back surgery, Tucker’s initial timeline for being cleared to play was put at a day after the regular-season opener, at best, but his progress has been ahead of schedule for weeks.
