There’s a side to Robert Sarver that Monty Williams finds hilarious.
"I really enjoy his humor," Williams said.
Beyond the laughs, Sarver and Williams have quickly discovered they prefer the same form of communication.
"It's always pretty forthright and straight up, which is one of the reasons why this was an appealing place for me," Williams said. "When I talk to Mr. Sarver, I never have to worry about where he’s coming from."
This connection has led to mutual respect between the two in the early stages of their team owner-head coach relationship.
