Robert Sarver has been blamed for pretty much everything that’s wrong with the Phoenix Suns.
That’ll reach an unprecedented level if they don’t start turning it around soon.
The Suns hired the head coach they wanted in Monty Williams, whom the Los Angeles Lakers also wanted and the Philadelphia 76ers could have easily elevated if they decided to part ways with Brett Brown.
Williams is well respected league-wide, has NBA head-coaching experience and found enough positives to overlook the fact that Phoenix has had four coaches in four seasons and still took the job.
The Suns might have the guy who can put them back in the playoffs for the first time since 2010, but if they remain one of the NBA’s worst teams, Williams won’t have to shoulder most of the blame.
