Phoenix Suns need a point guard with No. 16 pick if Deandre Ayton is their top choice

CHICAGO – Let’s say the Suns do what’s expected of them and take Arizona center Deandre Ayton with the No. 1 pick in the June 21 draft.

Does that mean they’ll select a point guard with the No. 16 pick?

Well, there are clues to suggest that’s what the Suns would like to do. For example, General Manager Ryan McDonough told azcentral sports in January that the two biggest offseason priorities were finding long-term solutions at center and point guard.

Then there’s the list of 20 players Phoenix interviewed at the NBA combine this week.
