Jevon Carter staying in Phoenix centered around two major things.
One, he wanted to help the Suns return to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Carter likes the city and the organization.
Two, the Suns let him know how much they appreciate him and value his play.
So the two came together to agree on a three-year, $11.5-million deal after Phoenix extended a qualifying offer ($1.9 million) to make him a restricted free agent. Carter had interest from multiple teams, but elected to stick with the Suns.
This is part of what can be considered a successful weekend for Suns as they've added two veterans and a backup big man along with re-signing Carter.
