Phoenix Suns enter 2020-21 season with new faces, playoff expectations

Devin Booker isn’t going there.

Asked what Phoenix is capable of this season coming off its surprise 8-0 bubble run and game-changing offseason highlighted with the addition of Chris Paul, Booker kept team expectations “in-house” as he often says.

“We’ll see.”

This is after teammate Jevon Carter answered the same question two weeks ago with one bold word.

“Champions.”

The Suns aren’t championship contenders, but they’re expected to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2010 as they open the NBA-shortened 72-game season Wednesday against Dallas.

“They’re a team that’s going to be a force in the Western Conference,” Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel said.
