The Phoenix Suns continue to assist those in need as the NBA season remains in hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic that's further hindering life here and beyond.
On Tuesday, Phoenix Suns Charities donated 250 items to Kids Need to Read, providing books, basketballs, t-shirts and stuffed animal versions of The Gorilla, the Suns mascot, the franchise announced Thursday.
“In times of crisis, non-profits don't stop working – that’s when we are needed most,” Denise Gary, co-founder and Executive Director of Kids Need to Read in Mesa, said in a news release.
The items are to be distributed to students as part of their free breakfast and lunch programs.
