When the Phoenix Suns signed 10-year veteran Ronnie Price to be the team’s third string point guard, the fan base rolled its collective eyes. With other backup guards like Ish Smith still available, not to mention NBA Summer League standout Mike James, the Suns’ decision to bring Price into the fold wasn’t a very popular one.
To be clear, it wasn’t exactly a ridiculed decision either. With two point guards starting in the backcourt, Phoenix’s third string point guard didn’t need to be anything spectacular. But even with Price having lasted 10 years in the NBA already, there was something about his career highs last year with the Los Angeles Lakers that underwhelmed.
