MILWAUKEE – Willie Green is no longer just talking to NBA teams.
He's gone beyond being a candidate, too.
Multiple reports have the Suns lead assistant in line to replace Stan Van Gundy as a the next head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans.
ESPN is reporting Green is the "strong frontrunner" for the position.
Seems only appropriate if this goes down.
Think about it.
Green played in New Orleans with Chris Paul and for Monty Williams. He's now coaching Paul and is running the defense for the Suns under Williams.
"Those guys are like best friends," Williams said about Paul and Green.
