The free event, open to the public, was held at the Prescott Valley Event Center; the home of the Northern Arizona Suns.
The introduction of Ellis was short and sweet. However, it kind of had to be. It was preceded by a rather long discussion on banking and basketball by Robert Sarver. The last to speak was Tommy Smith, the D-League’s Director of Operations.
Before introducing the new head coach, Sarver talked to the crowd about the similarities and differences of business and basketball, analytics, the draft, and leadership. Sarver stressed the importance of developing players, and continuing to develop the D-League.
