NBA warns Suns' Brandon Knight for flopping

Suns guard Brandon Knight received a flopping warning from the NBA office.

The flop occurred with 1:56 remaining in Monday night’s Suns victory at Chicago. Away from the ball on defense, Knight fell backward onto the ground while tussling with Bulls 7-footer Pau Gasol in the lane. No foul was called on the play that resulted in a Jimmy Butler 3-pointer.

Knight is the third NBA player to receive a warning for a flopping policy that was instituted by the NBA in 2012. The first violation warrants a warning. Repeat violations prompt escalating fines, starting with a $5,000 fine for the second violation.
