CHICAGO – Devin Booker had an extra bounce in his step during the pregame layup line.
Took off that white plush warmup jacket right away.
This was the beginning of a series of first for the first-time all-star in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game as Team LeBron won over Team Giannis, 157-155.
The first Phoenix Suns all-star since Steve Nash in 2012, Booker finished with six points that included a one-handed follow-up dunk in the second quarter.
With Team Giannis leading 133-124, going into the fourth quarter, the target score to win was 157 as 24 points were added to the 133 in honor of the late Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash last month along with his oldest daughter, Gianna, and seven others.
