By hiring James Jones to a newly created front-office position and extending the contract of General Manager Ryan McDonough, Suns owner Robert Sarver is showing that he’s committed to building the Suns' young core into a winner.
It means fans shouldn’t expect the team to win much right away, but this has a real chance to work.
At a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Sarver said that the way the business of the NBA works now, it makes the most sense to shape a roster through the draft. He also said that mentoring would be a key part of that.
