DENVER – Nikola Jokic gave rookie Deandre Ayton an NBA Big Man 101 lesson Saturday night.
He took the No. 1 overall pick in the post. He got Ayton off his feet and drew fouls.
He took him out to the 3-point line and knocked it down straight away.
Jokic took Ayton completely out of his game in posting a triple-double of 35 points on a perfect 11-of-11 shooting with 12 rebounds and 11 assists in Denver’s 119-91 blitzing of Phoenix at Pepsi Center.
Ayton finished with five points, eight rebounds – and five fouls – after posting a double-double in his NBA debut Phoenix won Wednesday by 21 over Dallas.
