It's was a new day for Kelly Oubre Jr. – and a new career high.
The Phoenix Suns' wing player, after hearing his name in trade talk before the Thursday deadline, scored 39 points, hitting 7-of-9 from 3 in Friday night's 127-91 win over Houston before 17,043 fans at Talking Stick Resort Arena
Before the game, Oubre said, "We move on. Today is a new day. I'm trying to get a win."
The Suns got a big one thanks in large part to Oubre, who added nine rebounds. The Suns (21-31) snapped a four-game skid and ended a 13-game losing streak against the Rockets (33-19).
