The Phoenix Suns have removed Jay Triano from consideration for its head-coaching position, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.
Triano served as the team's interim head coach after Earl Watson was fired three games into the season.
Assistant coach Ty Corbin has also been relieved of his duties.
The Suns went 21-61 this season and have the best odds of ending up with the No. 1 overall pick (25 percent) and a 64.2 percent chance of landing a top-three pick.
Former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer met with the Suns about their coaching vacancy but took his name out of the running more than a week ago, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnaworski.
