One year ago, the Phoenix Suns were in the process of bolstering a roster that was faced with heavy turnover. Only Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Deandre Ayton, Josh Okogie, Damion Lee, Saben Lee, and Ish Wainright had played minutes for the team in 2022-23. And some of those names wouldn’t make it through the summer into training camp.
It started with the draft, where Phoenix selected Toumani Camara with the 52nd overall selection. Then James Jones signed prove-it players via free agency. They added size and physicality with Drew Eubanks, athleticism and length with Keita Bates-Diop and Chimezie Metu, and a deadeye shooter in Yuta Watanabe.
