'I was very poor,': Booker, Phoenix Suns can't close out Washington Wizards in 3OT thriller

WASHINGTON – The game should’ve never came down to Phoenix’s former player guarding its best player with the Suns trailing by three with 9.2 seconds left in a third overtime.

Up seven late in regulation, the Suns looked as if they were going to leave Washington with a fifth straight win in comfy fashion. They instead squandered that lead with poor execution late, which became the theme of their 149-146 loss to the Wizards.

“Everybody knew kind of what was at stake,” Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. said. “Those guys definitely didn’t want to lose to us coming back here and we definitely wanted to win coming back here of course.
