Makur Maker is no longer an NBA draft prospect — for now.
According to Maker's guardian Ed Smith and Phoenix Hillcrest Prep boys basketball head coach Chianti Clay, the 6-foot-11 former Hillcrest center officially rescinded his paperwork Monday to remove himself from the list of players who had forgone their NCAA eligibility to declare for the NBA draft.
The draft is scheduled for October 16.
Maker gained attention last season as one of the nation's top recruits and a potential one-and-done college basketball player before he announced his commitment to Howard University in July.
