Chambers finished game with 60 points on 22-32 shooting, picking up 16 points from the line and atempting zero three-point shots in a late regular season game against the Seattle SuperSonics. The Suns would defeat Seattle handily, 121-95.
The previous record holder was Paul Westphal, who set the record in a 49-point game against the Detroit Pistons in 1980. That record would the be broken by Chambers who would score 56 points against the Golden State Warriors early in 1990, which means Chambers would break the franchise record twice in the same season, making him one of a handful of players who have broken a franchise record for points twice.
