Ryan McDonough grew up a sports fan. He knows how said fan's heart works, yearning for hope even against the slimmest of odds.
He is still a fan, but McDonough is also the general manager of the Phoenix Suns. In that capacity, he and the rest of the Suns front office approach tonight's NBA Draft lottery with a realistic plan already in place.
"I guess I’m more of a believer in probability and in math than I am in luck," McDonough laughed. "We understand where we are. There’s nothing we do, really, to worry about that. As we start to align our pre-draft workouts and prepare for the offseason, we’re acting like we’re going to have the 13th pick.
