Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker was chosen by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver Wednesday to replace injured Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis on the NBA All-Star team, the league announced.
The move comes a day after Booker was not chosen as a reserve by league coaches, stirring a backlash from supporters on social media.
The decision by Silver mark's the second consecutive year Booker was named to the All-Star team as an injury replacement. He replaced Portland guard Damian Lillard in 2020. Davis has been recovering from a calf injury this season.
Booker is averaging a team-high 24.
