Deandre Ayton just smiled and shrugged his shoulders when initially sharing his thoughts about Monty Williams.
“Well, I mean, I don’t know,” he said.
The often-upbeat 7-footer eventually turned serious and got around to talking about the man who has the daunting task of coaching a team that had the second-worst record in franchise history this past season.
“(Team owner Robert) Sarver said he’s a great guy,” Ayton said. “I’m just going to roll with that. Pick his brain a little bit and when it’s all said and done, he’s here in Phoenix. Work out with him and see what he got.
