He took three of the latter in helping Australia squeak past France, 100-98, Monday in the FIBA World Cup in China.
“What goes through my mind is don’t move, take the hit,” said Baynes when asked during a postgame press conference about taking charges. “Just trying to make the right play for our guys. They’re busting their ass as best they can to make it tough on their guy. Pressuring full court. So I have to step up and try to put my body on the line as well.
