Close the book on the most irregular season in NBA history. Remove it from the nightstand. Toss it in the fireplace.
It’s been that kind of season for basketball fans, and if we’re not lucky, the fallout could have severe implications on Planet Orange.
The NBA drew a record 22 million fans, sold out 723 games and featured some of the best individual performances ever witnessed. It also spawned serious issues, damaged the credibility of competition and left customers feeling like pawns in a bait-and-switch scheme.
Left unchecked, the devaluing of the regular season will make it even harder for organizations that don’t make the playoffs.
