Bickley: Golden State Warriors poised to be sports' next dynasty

The coronation is complete. The Warriors are the next great dynasty in professional sports.

The aftershocks are bittersweet.

Steve Kerr has won seven NBA championships, one more than Michael Jordan. Steve Nash, a team consultant, will be fitted with the ring he never won as a player. Interim coach Mike Brown earned revenge against a Cleveland franchise that fired him twice and is still sending him paychecks.

That’s the good stuff.

But in the end, these Warriors were too dominant for their own good. Their opponent was a 15-point underdog in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, prompting NBA legend Jerry West to lament the lack of real competition – while he was serving as an executive board member for Golden State.
