MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It all started so promising for the Suns. T.J. Warren was doing his thing around the basket, Josh Jackson was making shots and Phoenix was taking it to the Memphis Grizzlies.
For a brief moment or two, it appeared Phoenix might get a road win without Devin Booker. Without Marquese Chriss. Without Tyson Chandler.
Then reality hit.
Even the decimated Grizzlies (no Mike Conley, no Chandler Parsons), were too much for the short-handed Suns Monday. An early 19-9 Phoenix lead turned into a 17-point deficit at halftime and by the end of the night, Phoenix had lost its fifth straight game and eight of its past nine, falling to Memphis 120-109.
