Just 32 seconds into the game, Joel Embiid drew a shooting foul on Deandre Ayton

That was a sign of things to come.

Embiid ended up scoring 30 of his 42 points in the first half in leading Philadelphia to a 132-127 win in which the 76ers led Phoenix by as many as 30 early in the second half.

The Suns (9-30) once again gave up huge numbers in the first quarter – 44 points – rallied to make it a game in the fourth quarter, but they came up short Wednesday night in losing a fourth straight game at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
