As Becky Hammon interviews, Nancy Lieberman suggests a version of the Rooney Rule for the NBA

Nancy Lieberman has already left her stamp on the game of basketball. Now, the Hall of Famer, Olympian and coach has a proposed rule change.

"I think the NBA should have the Rooney Rule," she said. "Or make it the Lieberman rule."

Established in 2003, the NFL's Rooney Rule requires teams to at least interview minority candidates for head coaching and senior football operation jobs. Lieberman thinks it should be extended to the NBA and also include a provision for interviewing women.

"The Rooney Rule is about equality," she said. "So we need a rule in the NBA that’s about equality.
