Archie Goodwin Deserves More Minutes

The Phoenix Suns have an interesting love affair with guards and it has shown over recent years.

Ever since Steve Nash was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers towards the end of his career, the Suns have not found a replacement to compete with the backcourt-loaded Western Conference.

Each of the last two years the Suns have used a first-round draft pick on a guard, more recently Devin Booker, who was a lottery pick.

Last year the Suns signed free agent Isaiah Thomas, and thus began the three point-guard experiment, which went wrong, as it ended in them trading away Goran Dragic and Thomas and receiving Brandon Knight (among other players in the deal).
