In today's Suns news update, the Phoenix Suns have expressed "strong interest" in trading for Kevin Love, per Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com. Would that interest prompt them to trade newly-minted, All-NBA Third Team member Goran Dragic.
According to Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, the team's feelings for Love "could lead to Phoenix dangling Dragic, as other potential offers could fall well short of the winning bid."
"The Suns have a mini-army of picks (including the 14th, 18th and 27th selection in this year's draft) and prospects (including the Morris twins and 2013 first-rounders Alex Len and Archie Goodwin), Buckley continues. "But those assets feel more like sweeteners than centerpieces to a blockbuster deal."
If the Phoenix Suns could somehow convince Love to do a sign-and-trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves, they could very well justify letting go of Dragic in order to secure Love on a long-term commitment.
Otherwise, don't expect Dragic to be a serious part of any talks if there is risk of Love being a one-year rental.
