Former Philadelphia Union homegrown Zach Pfeffer might still have a chance to play this season in Colorado, after all.
But it will be with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC instead of the Rapids.
Pfeffer, the Union’s first-ever homegrown signing, was traded in the offseason to the Colorado Rapids for a pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, but his only playing time has come on loan with Charlotte Independence in the USL.
He’s made 16 appearances for the Independence, which is Colorado’s official USL affiliate at least until their two-year agreement expires at the end of the season.
