Returning home from Los Angeles after a 2-0 loss to take on the Montreal Impact on Saturday, the Union were forced to shuffle the deck with starters Marco Fabián and Auston Trusty missing and Mark McKenzie a late scratch after having appendicitis surgery.
To replace them, head coach Jim Curtin called on veteran Aurelien Collin to make his Union debut and inserted Jamiro Monteiro into the tip of the diamond in the midfield, keeping Brenden Aaronson on the left side of the diamond.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the job that Aurelien Colin did today on short notice,” head coach Jim Curtin said of the 33-year-old who made his 165th career MLS start.
