Earlier this week, Head Coach Jim Curtin said he and the rest of the staff have not yet picked a starting group of midfielders. Roland Alberg, Derrick Jones and Warren Creavalle seem to be the three players competing for the last open slot, with Alejandro Bedoya and Haris Medunjanin already locking up starting roles. Creavalle started against Tampa Bay Rowdies, while Jones scored the deciding goal against the Rowdies and got the starting nod against Montreal on Wednesday. Alberg came in as a sub in both matches.
Expect to see minimal subs
The preseason allows unlimited substitutions, but with it being the final game before the regular season opener at Vancouver, expect Curtin to run with his starting lineup for a majority of, if not the entire, 90 minutes.
