Swiss attacker Lyam MacKinnon’s strong start to his college career continued on Tuesday with a golden goal in his first taste of regular season overtime soccer to lift Villanova to their fourth straight win to start the season and the team’s fifth straight clean sheet dating back to last season.
The goal, off an assist in the box from defender Shane Bradley, was the second of the season for MacKinnon, who has been on the score sheet in all four games and leads the team in goals and assists with four.
The clean sheet was the fifth straight for goalkeeper Carson Williams dating back to last season, a program record.
