Veteran presence blends with fearless rookies to give Union 2-2 draw in front of sold out crowd

The nation had their eyes on Talen Energy Stadium Sunday night. A sellout crowd of 18,500 watched the Union earn a well-deserved point against New York Red Bulls. The match epitomized what Philadelphia Union have built their season on in 2016, a veteran presence mixed with strong rookie play.

Philadelphia trailed 2-0 through the first 45 minutes of the match. The No.6 overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft Fabian Herbers entered the match in the 64th minute and immediately made a mark on the match. Herbers created pressure on Red Bulls and his form left an impact on head coach Jim Curtin.
