Amateur teams from the Midwest cities of Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and Cleveland are coming to the Philadelphia area this weekend for the 44th edition of the U.S. National Donauschwaben Tournament.
The United German Hungarians will be hosting the amateur tournament in Oakford and will have two teams competing in the Men’s Major Division. The other local club in the tournament, Philadelphia Bucks Sports Club, will compete in the Over-35 Division.
The other teams in the tournament include Detroit Carpathia, Cleveland Concordia, Milwaukee Sport Club and Chicago Green White.
Detroit Carpathia have won the competition each of the last four years while the United German Hungarians last won the competition in 2011, one of five other times it was played in the Philadelphia area.
