Union's Nogueira gets green card

The Union announced that French midfielder Vincent Nogueira has officially received a green card. That is significant in that it opens up an international slot on the roster.

Major League Soccer allows teams to have eight international slots, but they are able to be traded. The Union dealt one in July to Houston in the Sheanon Williams trade.

The other Union players who occupy international slots are defenders Anderson Conceicao and Joshua Yaro, midfielders Roland Alberg, Eric Ayuk and Tranquillo Barnetta, and forward Fabian Herbers.

Speculation centers now on the Union looking to sign Brazilian midfielder Ilsinho, who has been a trialist with the team during preseason camp in Florida.
